Why I Chose This Life (And Keep Choosing It)

From the outside, a life filled with early mornings, events, community involvement and constant movement can look overwhelming. And at times, it is. But what people don’t always see is that this wasn’t something I fell into by accident. It’s something I chose and continue to choose.

Choosing this life means choosing early mornings when most people are still asleep. It means committing to long days, busy seasons and schedules that don’t always follow a predictable routine. It means showing up consistently, even when it’s inconvenient, and being present in moments that matter.

It also means choosing to be part of a community in a deeper way. To invest time and energy into something that brings people together. To care about how experiences are created, how relationships are built and how moments come together in a way that feels meaningful.

There are easier paths. There are roles that are more structured, more predictable and less demanding. But for me, this work has never been about ease…it’s about alignment. It reflects what I value: connection, experience and being part of something that has an impact beyond a single moment.

Over time, I’ve realized that choosing this life isn’t a one-time decision. It’s something that happens repeatedly…in the early mornings, in the long days and in the moments where you decide to keep showing up, even when it would be easier not to. It’s in the decision to stay committed, to stay involved and to keep investing in something that matters.

And while this life comes with its challenges, it also comes with a sense of purpose that makes it worth it. It’s not always easy, but it’s meaningful, and that’s what keeps me choosing it.

As you think about your own path, ask yourself: what are you choosing, and does it reflect the kind of life you want to build?
